ADVANCED STATS: My absolute favorite (and also great step by step instructions) for advanced multivariate stats are Tabachnick and Fidell (any edition is fine, they are up to 7th now but the library has a 6th ed you can sign out at HSL if you just want to read through it!), though this one is worth having on your personal shelf if you think you may be doing and advanced multivariate stats in the future! You can cite their methods recommendations in manuscripts, its got all the recommended standards and assumptions to evaluate for each test, how to check them, and what to do if you don’t meet them: very through.

BIOLOGICAL & BIOMEDICAL STATS REF: The BBSP 710 course book (Samuels & Witmer) is a good text book to walk you through concepts and has good examples specific to biological and biomedical sciences, but is more explanatory in nature and less applied.

BASIC STATS: My absolute favorite for basic stats is anything by Andy Field (he has a number of textbooks that are great, using various software options such as Discovering SPSS or Discovering R, but also explains the concepts with a step by step walkthrough regardless of which software you choose to use).
