Staffed by advanced graduate students, the stats help desk is open from 10AM-4PM most weekdays. Our consultants are available to assist with a broad range of topics and software, and can be reached via our Microsoft Teams channel or Slack workspace. COVID-19 Update:
Advanced graduate students are available to answer your statistical analysis and programming questions virtually through Slack, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. You can also reach the desk via email at odum.lab.consultants@unc.edu. Please see below for information on accessing our new virtual consulting services and an updated schedule outlining when each consultant will be available and their specializations:
Slack:
- First, join our Odum consulting Slack workspace.
- Next, visit the Stats Desk channel to submit questions.
- Finally, use these articles to leave the workspace, leave the channel or mute notifications once your session is complete.
Microsoft Teams:
- Chat with consultants by joining the Stats Desk Team.
- Finally, use these articles to leave the Team or change your notifications settings.
- Mac users occasionally have trouble with the desktop client. If that is the case, we encourage you to try the browser app instead.
- Teams should be used when sharing sensitive data. Once you explain your needs to the consultant, they can help you share your data via a private message or folder.***
Zoom:
- Each consultant has a personal meeting room on Zoom with a waiting room enabled. Individual consultants will share their Zoom IDs as needed after first discussing your needs in one of the two channels above.
